There were just a handful of reports of newly launched or completed real estate private equity funds over the past month but firms are raising capital for a wide variety of investments that include U.S. and European debt, regional multifamily offerings and a $1.5 billion opportunity fund from KKR.

Tampa, Fla.-based Convergent Capital Partners has raised $40 million for a real estate investment fund that will focus on value-added and opportunistic plays in both the property and note space. CCP Fund I will have an investment capacity of $125 million when accounting for leverage (REFI, 12/6).
