Genesis Capital, a Los Angeles-based investment manager, has launched a fund that will target short-term loans for borrowers who want to buy and flip distressed single-family homes. The firm has lined up a $100 million commitment from Oaktree Capital, which could commit up to $250 million to the fund, said Andrew Smith, senior managing director.
