CCRE’s Anthony Orso believes commercial mortgage-backed securities issuance will continue to rise in 2014 and could hit up to $125 billion as originators aim to broaden their lending and clear their balance sheets more quickly. “The biggest change in the market that we’ve seen this year is frequency. CMBS deals are smaller, but there are more deals. Execution time is down from four or five months in 2011 to three months in 2013, and now two months in 2014,” Orso told REFI.

The firm was launched in 2010 via a partnership between Cantor Fitzgerald and Los Angeles-based CIM Group. The origination shop opened its doors with an all-star team that included Anthony Orso, Michael Lehrman and Steve Kantor, best known for their work at Credit Suisse.
